The Guarneri model is the most commonly used chinrest. This very comfortable medium-height chinrest is the standard for today's violinist. This center-mounted chinrest is 25 mm at the highest point. The arch underneath the chinrest has been carefully designed to clear peaked tailpieces, avoiding buzzes.

Figaro fine fittings are made only from the best-sourced materials and finished by hand by craftsmen in a family-owned business.

The Ebony (Diospyros ebenum) is pure black, harvested in Sri Lanka or the Chotonagpur Plateau in India. It is aged to ensure stability and quarter-sawn before being made into the individual parts.

The quarter-sawn rosewood(Dalbergia Latifolia) is harvested in northeast India. It is aged in the log for a minimum of two years. Large logs with the straightest grain are carefully selected for our fittings.

The Boxwood (Buxus sempervirens) is harvested in the foothills of the Himalayas. It is originally off-white and air-aged to ensure stability. After sectioning into quarter-sawn boards, it is carved and then stained a tasteful orange-brown.

The cork (Quercus suber) is the finest quality, fitted precisely to minimize acoustic interference and to maximize stability. The chrome fittings are individually fitted by hand, are straight, and thread easily.

Figaro Importers fittings are carved precisely to maximize acoustic performance, strength, and durability. There are no chinrests available that are superior!
