Three Prong Violin Mute in Ceyonese Ebony by Figaro Importers (Package of Three)

The three prong ebony mute is the finest sounding mute for chamber music and solo use. Unlike rubber and metal versions, it does not kill some of the upper timbre of the instrument, thus giving the acoustics of the instrument's character a chance to shine even in the muted state. While this mute is designed for 4/4 violin, it will fit most 3/4 violins and violas.

The Ebony (Diospyros ebenum) is pure black, harvested in Sri Lanka or the Chotonagpur Plateau in India, and aged to assure stability.  There are no ebony parts available that are superior!
